| For centuries the aboriginal people of Australia have
used the oil of the emu for a variety of skin conditions, and have
attributed miraculous healing powers to it.
Traditional methods of treatment would see the aboriginal people
place pure emu fat on affected areas and allow the hot sun to liquefy
it. The emu oil would then be massaged into the skin, muscle or
wound.
The use of emu oil was among many natural remedies adopted by white
settlers and was predominantly used in the treatment of bruised
tissue, burns, and dry skin problems.
Emu Oil has frequently been tested by government and private laboratories
and found to contain a number of fatty acids, ranging from Palmatic
to Eicosenoic (C16:0 to C22:0).
